Manchester United receive timely injury boosts ahead of Liverpool game

With the close of the international break already in sight, the fans of the English Premier League are eagerly awaiting the return of some of their players  from international duty.

Manchester United travel to face Liverpool this weekend; a tie that promises to be exciting and suspense-filled as well. The Reds can be regarded as giant killers this season, having defeated the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal away from Anfield.

The Jurgen Klopp boys recorded a 4-3 away win against Arsenal on the opening day of the season, which announced their intent to return to the UEFA Champions League. However, another away win against Chelsea proved that they are to be taken seriously.

Jose Mourinho has cause to worry about the Liverpool game but, he can take solace in the thought that he has a large squad to pick from. The squad has gotten quite bigger since it is reported byManchestereveningnewsthat there is a probability of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Luke Shaw being available for selection.

Both players stayed back during the international break in a bid to recuperate from their respective injuries – Mkhitaryan nursed a thigh injury, whilst Shaw’s groin strain kept him out of the England games.

The Albanian international is yet to kick a ball since the 2-1 defeat to bitter rivals Manchester City, and Shaw is due to return after missing four games since he played in the 3-1 defeat to Watford, he seems quite prepared, since he was seenflaunting his Adidas bootsthe other day.

Their return is certainly good news for us after failing to record consistent results in the EPL. Mourinho has some rallying to do in a bid to record consistent results, and the return of two of his top players could provide the much-needed boost.

Meanwhile there is a Phil Jones who is set for a return this month, if all goes to plan.
